34. Qd4 Rxb2 35.Qc4?
why should white give away a bishop for nothing? but now it's still draw...
man that sucks for black! white is ginna win for sure.
White lost the advantage in 33th move.
Game is draw
Thanks for this wonderful opportunity Mr Onischuk. It was a great learning experience for me personally, and i think it helped me get better.
Not only that, but the way the game unfolded (apart the cheating at some point) was an eye opener. Made me realize my game was so tied to the same basic moves which of course caused a majority of my defeats. Since we started this game, i managed to look at unexplored moves and positions with a new mind set and found so many wonderful "rewards".
Big big thank you
Powerly game is black
Thanks for the game, GM Onischuk. I've learned much during this game, and there is only one thing remains to say: how about a rematch? :)
Thank you GM Onischuk for your time with us mere mortals.
In fact, I was trying to avoid queen trade. The endgame is probably lost for me because it would be really hard to stop black pawns.
GM Onishuk your humble and gracious demeanor was awespiring, and something every chess player should aspire to. I thought the game was terrifying at points, and its ashamed it was tainted by someone most of us were looking to for guidance during those times. This game showed me some great positional play from both sides. I also thank you for taking some time to analyze the game for us. (Most of us could have used an engine of some kind, but wouldn't have got the feedback that you gave, just a simple moves list.)
I wish you all the luck in your future endeavors, and thank you for this great opportunity you've given us.
A personal note: I've personally plateaud, and this game has inspired me to continue to improve my game.
Grandmaster Onischuk: Thank you for participating in an event that was primarily for the benefit of the amateurs of the world. How classy that you made public comments to let us know what you were thinking. You're a hero to many of us!
Surprisingly I don’t see where any side could have played better. Maybe I should have tried 26.d5 with some pressure. Objectively speaking black is fine anyway, but he has to find some precise moves… I saw d5, but first of all I thought the move I played gives me some good chances, and secondly I did not have enough time to analyze it. This moment in the game occurred during my match with Navara in Khanty-Mansijsk.
Thanks for the game, GM Onishuk! I think I speak for most of us when I say I really enjoyed the game!
THANKS GM AlexOnischuk for giving me and everyone else the opportunity to play you! It was a very interesting game and I look forward to playing you again sometime!
Good game to everyone. Always a fun experience to get many different viewpoints in a game especially for intermediate to beginner players such as myself. My only request would be to play another if the Grandmaster would be so kind! So many things to learn from a very strong Grandmaster such as himself.
Thanks to everyone who made the game possible and who participated. It was a lot of fun. I'm glad to be back on chess.com in time to see the end of the game after having my computer crash after move 23...Nc2.
@Zinsch & @Alberto369, I believe Alberto has it right when he says the knights werren't attacking, but interfering, blocking and occupying White's time. It was certainly entertaining and interesting.
Thanks for the game, GM Onischuk!
